Top Ten Comic Moments of the 1990s
The Philippine Daily Inquirer recently counted down the top ten comic moments of the last decade, i.e. the 1990s. Their trip down memory lane includes The Spider-Clone Saga, the launch of Vertigo and Superman getting married, as well as the launch of Marvel Knights:
With Marvel teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, it took an unusual cadre of superheroes to save the day.
Second-tier characters such as Daredevil, the Inhumans, and the Punisher were revived by some of the best writers in the business, including film director Kevin Smith ("Dogma," "Jersey Girl"), and sales spiked.
Marvel top brass was so impressed that they promoted line editor Joe Quesada to editor in chief. The company emerged from bankruptcy soon after, and it remains the No. 1 comics publisher.

I'm surprised the collapse of the speculator market didn't make the list. It had a huge impact on the business side and creative side.
Hal didn't kill the Guardians, and calling it the "top ten comic moments" is a bit misleading. Absent a modifying word like "top ten most important" or "top ten biggest", one kind of assumes it means "top ten" in terms of quality.
