Jim Valentino returns to Shadowhawk
SciFi Wire reports that Jim Valentino will return to writing and drawing Shadowhawk in March with issue 10 of the series:
"For a while I was just overseeing the book and letting other people write and draw it," Valentino said in an interview. "But recently I started laying out the pages again, and, all of a sudden, it just seemed natural to start writing and drawing it again."
He'll follow that up with a four-issue Shadowhawk mini-series called Rise:
"Rise tells the story of the latest Shadowhawk, 17-year-old Eddie Collins, who has been given the helmet and has found he's able to manipulate it in ways that previous Shadowhawks have not," Valentino said. "He is able to talk to all the Shadowhawks of the past and has become the reincarnation of the original Shadowhawk, a 5,000-year-old shaman. But he's also a kid, so he has no idea what he's doing, and so he's constantly being influenced by the voices of the other Shadowhawks. Along the way, Eddie's best friend is killed, and the helmet is stolen. He finds he's having second thoughts about himself and whether he should even be a Shadowhawk."
