Millar turns on the .tv

July 1 is finally here, and with it, Mark Millar has (as promised) delivered the reincarnation of the now defunct Millarworld.biz. It's bigger. It's grander. It's got a monthly magazine with a host of contributors and features a slew of interviews with names like Stan Lee, Joss Whedon, and David Goyer.

Newsarama has their own interview up with Millar and his staff, and as Millar puts it, "Millarworld.tv is to millarworld.biz what X2 was to X-Men. We've got a bigger budget, we've got a crack team and we know what we're doing now. Our forums, at present, get around 3 million hits a week and over 250,000 unique visitors a month. Obviously, we're delighted by that, but we've always seen the forums as the first step towards something bigger and that's a free multimedia site for nerds just like us in every corner of the globe."

They're reaching out to artists for contributions as well. Alice Doyle states, "I'd like to add that we also have a monthly competition for the cover. Anyone who wants to draw our cover can send us their sketch and we choose the best one each month. The quality of the work we've received has been astounding and again it took us ages and much arguing to choose."

In short, it's a party. So how great a party is it? I love the interviews, especially Millar's with Stan Lee. The host of forums from the .biz days is still there, and the features and reviews are by and large incredibly interesting and well written. Nice redux.
