Small bites ...

Getting to know Will Pfeifer
For the latest installment of its "Get To Know Me" column, the Rockford, Ill., Register Star turns to copy editor and columnist -- and Catwoman writer -- Will Pfeifer:

Who is he? Will, 38, is a copy editor and columnist at the Register Star. He’s worked at the paper since 1989, and has been writing his video review column since 1994. He also writes for DC Comics, and is currently the guy chronicling the adventures of Catwoman. He’s married to Amy, a children’s librarian, and is the father of Allison, whom he and Amy adopted from China this spring.

... What is something people would be surprised to learn about you? My last name is actually pronounced Pie-fer. That first F is silent!
Cartoon library profiled
Ohio University's U Weekly spotlights the Ohio State Cartoon Research Library, the largest facility of its kind in the nation. The library holds 240,000 original cartoons, including five recently acquired Winsor McCay strips.

Beginning in September the library will feature Sugar and Spice: Little Girls in the Funnies, an Exhibition of Peanuts Girls and Their Predecessors, Contemporaries and Successors, followed in January by Korean Comics: A Society Through Small Frames.
