Terry Brooks talks career, influences and new OGN

The Book Standard chats with fantasy author Terry Brooks about the upcoming Armageddon's Children, his influences, and working on Dark Wraith of Shannara, the first original graphic novel from Del Rey:

I’m actually at the midway-point of the second book [in the series], after Armageddon’s Children, title to be announced later. Then, I just finished work on an outline and character work up for a graphic novel of a new storyline in the Shannara series that Del Rey wants to launch as their first original [title] under their new manga line. But it’s really more a traditional graphic novel than anything. This is such a visual medium that readers want that sort of thing—they really talk about it all the time. I didn’t want to do a rehash of an old book because it just didn’t seem like the right thing to do. I thought, “Let’s just do something new and see if there’s interest.”

Dark Wraith of Shannara is set to be released by the end of 2007.
