O Aquaman, where art thou?

It's been a couple of days since the last Aquaman TV update, so where are we? Oh, yeah, still no Aquaman series.

In other news, the AquamanTV website says the show's trailer was viewed more than 100,000 times on YouTube before it was removed because of copyright violations. (Psst. You didn't hear it from me, but you can still watch it at Google Video.)

Elsewhere, KryptonSite's Craig Byrne apparently has seen the actual pilot episode, and says it stands up "pretty darn well": "Yes, this pilot was very expensive, and you can see that expense on the screen. That might have scared the decision-makers away. It's also a VERY LAME excuse. There were plenty of interesting and fascinating stories that could be told with these characters for a lesser budget. They just had to get out the starting gates with something theatrical. It's really like comparing the Smallville pilot to the series. The series still looks darned good, and I think it would have turned quite a profit in the long run."

Although it's been reported that Aquaman still could see life as a midseason replacement, AquamanTV says not to get your hopes up: "... as far as we know at AquamanTV, there are no plans to put the series on at midseason. Which is why it is very important to spread the word around the Net that you want to see Aquaman -- so perhaps, by some miracle or chance, executives at the CW will decide to exercise their right to put in an order for more of the series while they still can."

And because this is the Internet, there's a petition drive to save Aquaman. So far, there's more than 1,600 signatures.
