E3 Report: Monday May 8
Even though the conference officially starts tomorrow, major announcements kicked off the E3 (Electronics Entertainment Exposition) today in Los Angeles. Most of the big news revolved around the Sony Playstation 3, followed by Square Enix's announcement of three Final Fantasy XIII games.
Definitely overshadowed, a few comic-related press releases were made. Activision unveiled its plans for E3. Expect a sneak peak from its highly anticipated Spider-Man 3 video game that demonstrates the in-game model of the renowned super hero and the power of next-generation technology. Also on the show floor, Activision will show off X-Men: The Official Game, a prelude to the upcoming movie X-Men: The Last Stand. The game will ship on May 16th.
Activision also confirmed that Marvel: Ultimate Alliance will be available as a next generation launch title for both the Sony PS3 and the Nintendo Wii. It will also be made for almost everything else (Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 2, Xbox, Sony PSP, Nintendo Game Boy Advance, and Windows PC).
GameTap and Telltale Games announced the new Sam & Max games will be released later this year in episodic format. A subscription to GameTap costs $9.95 a month and is only available in the United States. Sam & Max will be demonstrated at the Expo starting Wednesday, with the trailer available for download on Telltale Games' Sam & Max Official Website, which went live today. Telltale will sell individual episodes from its website.
Come back tomorrow evening for more E3 coverage.
