Fan Art? Homages? Knock offs?

Call them what you will, Birmingham's Crescent Gallery has some...familiar looking artwork for sale on their website. Most pieces are oils on linen and at a decent size of 30" x 38". It's not clear if these particular pieces were originally a student art project, or if they were produced with the intention of being sold. Either way, they seem well received by the general public.

We took the 'Heroes & Villains' artwork to Memorabilia at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham in February 2005. Many visitors to our stand had their photograph taken with our special guest, the Caped Crusader. Batman stopped for a while to say hello and help sell our fantastic collection of Superhero Artwork from our local artists in and around Birmingham. We have asked our artists to produce more Super Heroes pictures.
