LSU students go to Gotham City

A group of LSU students are filming their very own Batman movie:

“I made the suit out of latex, the belt is a 10-pocket military belt from a military surplus company and the cape is made out of $2.50 stuff that Hancock Fabric has at Halloween,” Spitzer said in his gravelly character voice. “It’s cheap, it looks good and it flows well.”

The fan movie, which they hope to play at an upcoming film festival, will also feature Robin, Batgirl and Superman. The main villain is the Joker:

Spitzer described his version of Joker as a mix between movie villains Hannibal Lector and John Doe. Throughout the film there will be flashbacks of Joker and Batman’s conflicts over the years.

Bergeron said the climax of the film will feature a choreographed 16-on-1 fight scene.

“Paul and I are the fight choreographers,” Bergeron said. “Pretty much what happens is Joker has Batman captured, and Batman gets free and takes on Joker, Harlequin and 14 of Joker’s henchmen. They are all going to have different weapons like machetes, bats, knives, guns — everything.”
