Green With Congratulations

What can I say? I'm jealous and envious.

It's bad enough that he got to do so many cool things at Newsarama that I didn't get to. I mean, all I got to do was post on the message boards, but Alex, he got to do all of the cool interviews and then he would rub it in my face when he called me up on the phone. "Ha! I got to talk to Mark Waid!" or "That's right, buddy! That was ME doing the Jim Lee interview! Ha!"

Then the call came about his new DC gig. My ears bled for a day from all of the newly-crowned-Miss-America screaming going on at the other end of the phone.

"Well, that's great, Alex, but did you tell them the truth?"

"Huh? What truth? What are you talking about?"

"Did you tell them that you only applied for the position so that you could impress Gail Simone and maybe get a date? Tell them about your crush on Devin Grayson?"

"They...don't ever have to know..."

Well, they do now. HA!

In all seriousness, my congratulations to Alex. In the few years that I've known him, he's been a great, honest friend and all-around great guy to work with. DC is rewarding themselves by bringing him on board and he'll be nothing but an asset to the company. Sucks that we won't be working together like we have for the past year here at TGC, but he has to try to do something with his life even if I'm not.

Alex, you will be missed. Just make sure that I'm on the comp list, buddy.
