Spurgeon Makes This Industry Better

For my money, combine the knowledge of Mark Evanier with the tact/wit of Kurt Busiek and you get Tom Spurgeon.

He covers the industry in a manner that I think few others can as frequently and effectively as he does on a daily basis.

In a piece for the PULSE, Spurgeon is "...Reaching out to some artists and writers who used to live in the Gulf Coast area, or still make their home nearby, for their perspective on the week's news thus far."

Spurgeon challenges and entertains me quite often, but not always at the same time.

And this particular piece helped give me a perspective on the tragedy of this week in a way that all the 24-hour news channels combined have failed to provide to me.
