The Humor (or Dystopia) of Conservative Comics

The Boston Globe today reported on a new comic book coming from the "recently formed one-man publishing venture" ACC Studios in Kentucky and their upcoming title Liberality For All, "an Orwellian nightmare of ultra-liberalism" featuring Chelsea Clinton as President, Michael Moore as Vice-President, Osama bin Laden as the Afghani ambassador, and "radio pundits Sean Hannity, G. Gordon Liddy, and Oliver North as biomechanically tricked-out members of a conservative underground resistance called F.O.I.L. (the Freedom of Information League)."

Liberality For All is billed on the ACC Studios site as "the worlds [sic] first Conservative Comic Book?" But writer/creator Mike Mackie also says in the article that "humor can be uniting. I hope the book gets people to laugh and raise questions on both sides and gets them talking about issues again."

I think I heard someone mention this months, if not a year ago in a message board somewhere. I thought he was kidding.

Nope. Serious as jock itch. At least, his intent to print it is...Is the content?

To paraphase the Man in Black, it walks the line.

Might need to read it (or have a respected source read it on my behalf) to decide for myself -- Then again, what better sales gimmick is there?
