8/24 Comics: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Spoilers ahead!!!

THE GOOD

Conan #19 told a fun, interesting tale with just enough gross stuff to entertain any age group, with really great art from Nord and Stewart, team supreme.

Jack Cross #1 has an interesting lead character, and a gripping "24-esque" scene that really pulls in the reader by their special parts.

Legion of Superheroes #9 had some parts that were good. Which pleased me.

Strange Girl #3 was a WHOLE lot of fun.

Same with Invincible #25.

Walking Dead #21 had a lot of character action. I love the fact that that is something that Walking Dead has almost pioneered in comics - character action. Not action sequences, but that the characters are so interesting, that we are there to see what they do next, and there is a lot of character movement in this issue, hence, character action.

Trevor Hairsine's art in Black Panther #7.

Daredevil vs. Punisher #3 made Bushwacker fun to read. BUSHWACKER, PEOPLE!

In Daredevil vs. Punisher #3, David Lapham also made one of the most amazing turnarounds I can remember, by taking a subplot that I thought was the worst part of #2, and twisting it around so much that I liked it. Well done, Mr. Lapham!

Wolverine #33 was action-packed in the coolest sense of the word.

THE BAD

Adventures of Superman #643 was like a TV Guide recap. NOTHING HAPPENED IN IT!!!

Geoff Johns explained why Power Girl has a whole in her top.

Rocket Red was killed off.

Legion of Superheroes had stuff that I did not like. Which I thought was bad.

Rob Liefeld's art on Teen Titans #27.

The premise of Daredevil #76, although it was executed well.

Ultimate X-Men Annual confusing "significant" with "good."

THE UGLY

Batman #644, where Dr. Leslie Thompkins admits to letting a teenage girl die to prove a point to Batman.

I cannot add any more to this category, as really, there really can't be anything else this past Wednesday in comics (including Liefeld on Titans) that can be compared to as terrible as THAT, can there?

Well, that's it for me!

Feel free to share your reactions of the week so far - good, bad or ugly!
