On a Lark

I think I've used this headline before. But who cares? Newsarama talks to outgoing Gotham Centrai artist Michael Lark about his recently-signed Marvel exclusive. Lark goes on about how much he loves/loved GC but provides very little in the form of explanation for leaving. Guess that's top secret stuff.

Lark sez:

My attitude towards Central hasn't changed. I still think it's the best comic in the mainstream market today. But there just aren't a lot of people buying the book, and that put DC in a difficult position. We'd been discussing that for about a year, since I'd renewed my contract with them last November. They wanted me to stay on the book forever, I wanted to stay on the book forever, Ed, Greg, and Stefano wanted me to stay on the book forever. But the folks at DC felt they needed to make some changes in some areas, and long story short we all realized that I couldn't stay on the book. No one was happy about it, but it had to be done.

I groaned when I saw the Lark press release (because of the pun, not because of the creator). ;)

PS Does this site support RSS? I'd love to add The Great Curve to personal Yahoo newslinks page.
Just wonderin'

Keep your eyes peeled. We're working on it. Also, look for the blog to move to its own domain in the coming weeks.
