Going Indie, part 2

Newsarama's Ryan McClelland returns with the second installment of his series on how to get your indie comic published. It's a learning experience for both writer and readers, as McClelland has never had anything published either.

Again, writing a comic is something I can’t teach you. My attempt here is to try and help those who want to create a comic book do so. For this comic I wrote ten different scripts, most of them quick two-page stories with two longer four-page stories. I tried to keep them quick, well timed, and funny – most importantly I wanted these short tales to be well read enough to have a buyer go back to read again and again. So I’ll have twenty-four pages all together and all I need is pencils, inks, and letters! I just need to find me some artists. Seems easy enough, right?

I like the honesty of the blog/series. He could have very easily taken the road of ego and made it a diatribe on how to do things, but his candor is infinitely more helpful.
