Dare to Maleev

There's an interesting interview with Daredevil penciler Alex Maleev over at ComicCon.com. Maleev talks about his love for Daredevil and New York City as well as skirting around his future comic plans.

Maleev said he hopes to be working on another “grounded” series as opposed to something outrageous or containing characters who are lost in space or off fighting something fantastical. He’s also looking forward to taking a little vacation from the sequential art for a while. “I have other things to do outside of comics and I’m looking forward to some months off, because, to mention one thing, there’s a world out there waiting to be discovered.”

Fear not, though, Maleev hints at plans for other, non-sequential art projects as well as something with Bendis in the future. As much as I've liked Maleev's work on Daredevil and even before when he worked on the Batman "No Man's Land" crossover, I'm interested to see what the next creative team will do with the book. Maleev has been drawing ol' horn head for almost four years straight and I think it's time for someone else's interpretation AND for Maleev to spread his pencils all over the comic book industry.
