Activate!

My friend and fellow TGC contributor Chris Arrant has a feature story up over at Newsarama on Act-i-vate, an "experimental cyber studio generating new comix content owned by the respective creators," according to Act-i-vate contributor Dean Haspiel:

"While the idea of artists sharing a studio is nothing new, using the internet to create a virtual studio where these artists can work with each other and show their work to others is something new.

"Having kept a loose blog for over 4-years, I became part of an exponentially growing online community at Livejournal.com," Haspiel stated. "After awhile, I realized I was reading more blogs than I was reading daily news. And, once I fully accepted that blogs were a valid form of reportage and personae building, I started to think about the best way to capitalize on this free platform for marketing and literature."

Haspiel's cohorts include Michel Fiffe, Dan Goldman, Nikki Cook, Nick Bertozzi, Leland Purvis, Tim Hamilton and Josh Neufeld. Visit http://community.livejournal.com/act_i_vate/ to see this virtual studio in action.
