Superhero Movies, from the (Unfortunate) Start

As far as movies go, the upcoming V For Vendetta has an obvious advantage over Ghost Rider. From "Origin-al Cin" posting at the Loose Pages blog:

The origin.

A superhero's origin story -- the tale of his/her coming of age, discovering his/her powers, donning his/her costume -- is a practically essential element of the genre. It makes the myth, and it establishes the heroes' humanity, credibility, conflict, and morality.

It's also usually one of the most boring parts to watch.
