What 7/7 Comics I Would Recommend

Spoilers ahead!

Wow, when I recommended here Justice League Unlimited #11 and Wildguard: Fool's Gold #1, I did not realize that I would only have one other book to recommend this week, or else I would have done two other books.

Ah well.

In any event, all I have this week is really Gotham Central #33, which I thought was a strong issue, with an intriguing concept behind it (what do the cops do when a kid dressed up convincingly like Robin shows up dead?) and a fine cliffhanger. I was impressed by Kano's art, as I did not think he would be able to pull it off (his inker I'm sure is owed a lot of the credit, though).

That's actually it for my recommendations this week, but the following books I thought were good enough for me to say some nice things abou them...

Star Wars: Empire #32 - Thomas Andrews carves a very interesting tale of Luke Skywalker being held accountable for the actions of ANAKIN Skywalker, a person who (at this point in Star Wars history) Luke knew little to nothing about.

The drawback is that you are right smack in the middle of a story, and it reads just like you were dropped right smack in the middle of a story...not a terribly accessible comic book.

I missed Intimates #9, so it might be good.

Hunter/Killer #3, out of nowhere, was decent. But Silvestri is just killing this book for me.

Y The Last Man #35 took one issue too many for me.

John Layman and Greg Pak do yeoman's work with their House of M tie-ins, but the concept just isn't cool enough for me to recommend their Fantastic Four
or Iron Man tie-ins.

Uncanny X-Men #362 was fun, but extremely dense.

I like Ultimate Spider-Man #79 a lot more than recent issues, but I still found myself flipping past pages of awkward dialogue.

That's it for me!

What did YOU think of the week that was?

Is this a nonrecommendation? Or a kinda-recommendation?

You are a glutton for punishment.

I don't want people to think that I was knocking Intimates...hehe.
