DivaLea: via Comics Reporter, via Mike Catron: ARNOLD DRAKE!

Arnold Drake by Mike Catron

People who did and didn't go to San Diego a bit over a week ago heard about Arnold Drake's Eisner Awards song. Probably what makes it stick in mind, besides that singing is not a usual thing for comics people (except at the Eisners, I guess--Sergio Aragones and Joe Ferrara sang at the Eisners last year), is a breathtaking zinger directed at Stan Lee.

Because I'm up at oh-God-is-it-morning-already o'clock getting my son on the bus, I cruise the blogs of people who update super early, like Heidi McDonald's The Beat and Tom Spurgeon's Comics Reporter. I then go the hell back to bed for a while, but not before hooking you up with Mike Catron's Quicktime movie of Drake's finger-snappin' ditty, as performed at a panel hosted by Mark Evanier.
(Requires the Quicktime plug-in. Be sure and open QT, peek under Edit>Preferences>QuickTime Preferences, then choose "Browser Plug-In" from the window that pops up, then click the "MIME settings" button, expand the "MPEG-MPEG system..." option and check "MP4". Yes, it's worth the effort. And how often does a woman speak Macgeek to you, anyway?)

First seen at CR's Sunday Magazine.
