Invincible Multiplex

Robert Kirkman's baby, Invincible, has been optioned as a film by Paramount. The Image comic is almost tailor-made for film, as it stars a highly relatable novice hero with a fairly simple origin. Kirkman, already writing Invincible, Walking Dead and Marvel Team-Up every month, will pen the screenplay. No word yet on the casting for Mark, his dad/Omni-Man or any other characters, but I think this movie has a great deal of potential. It's the perfect mix of light-hearted humor and gut-wrenching drama that makes for a good story in any medium. As for the casting, I'd love to see Matt Long from the WB's "Jack & Bobby" as Invincible and some mad genius on the Newsarama boards already posted his nominee for the perfect Omni-Man: Tom Selleck.
