Characterization, ahoy
Comics, unlike many forms of entertainment, have the opportunity to play with a character for years, if not decades, developing them, ideally, into fully formed people, with complex personalities, motivations, traits and such. We've seen heroes, villains, civilians, sentient planets (Mogo and Ego) that are more human than some people we actually know. With that in mind, what character really rings true for you?

For me it's Kyle Rayner, the Green Lantern. Since being created by Ron Marz, he's been infinitely relatable, serving as the perfect viewpoint into any story for a reader. Marz let him grow up and become more capable, without losing the character's sense of wonder. Grant Morrison and Joe Kelly both used him excellently during their respective JLA runs, using him as a great counterpoint to the classic DC heroes. He's my nominee. Who's your's? All entries must be postmarked no later than...oh wait, this is the internet.
