The Week at the Curve

This week saw a lot of news come out of E3, the video game industry's version of the San Diego Comicon. Stephanie Chan was all over the breaking news about comic book video games, such as the new Hellboy game, 300, Konami's Marvel trading card game and even Superman and X-Men-themed hardware from Alienware.

If you missed Steph's reports this week, check them out:

In addition to Steph's reports, Kevin also brought us details on the new Hal0 comic and "booth babes" having to cover up at E3 this year.

There was also good news this week for people who like to read their comics, not just play them. DC announced its upcoming trades for the fall, which include an Infinite Crisis hardcover, Sachs & Violens and an Absolute New Frontier, among others.

Infinite Crisis's end, which Tom blogged about this week, didn't keep DC from making headlines, as 52 arrived in stores. To celebrate, they launched a new website for the weekly comic. Kevin blogged about the New York Daily News' coverage of 52. Speaking of Kevin, he's been on the TGC team for awhile, but started helping out this week with a lot of the daily blogging -- which I definitely appreciate, and I hope you do, too.

This was also a week of sad endings, as comic fan Chris Daughtry was voted off of American Idol (He was robbed!), and Justice League Unlimited ended its run on Cartoon Network ... quite possibly closing down the long-running DC animated universe that began back when Batman: The Animated Series first came to television.

So let's raise a glass to Paul Dini, Bruce Timm and all the cast and crew who not only brought us Harlequin, Supergirl's white T-shirt uniform and Batman Beyond, but also some of the best stories and moments involving our favorite DC characters. The final episode had several classic moments, from Superman's "He's Lex friggin' Luthor!" and Lex's conversation with Metron at the Source Wall to Flash's kiss and the return of an old friend. Hopefully it wasn't our last look at the franchise, but if so, it was a fitting end.
