Superman Returns plays romance card with new TV ad

Covering all of its bases, Warner Bros. aired a new commercial for Superman Returns during last night's season finale of The O.C. -- one that plays up the movie's romance angle. ("He was Superman," Lois says, "Everyone was in love with him.")

"Superman is emo," one message board poster observed.

The TV spot is sure to appeal to those Smallville fans who like the show's love entanglements and melodrama but who aren't as keen on the cape and tights.
