Graphic novel sales 'well over' $250 million, ICv2 says
As it releases its eighth Retailers Guide to Graphic Novels, ICv2.com raises its estimate of graphic novel sales in 2005 to "well over" $250 million.
Previously, the website had pegged sales last year at "nearly" $250 million. It's unclear how much money is represented by the revised estimate.
Propelled by the film adaptation, Alan Moore and David Lloyd's V for Vendetta was the best-selling graphic novel for the first quarter of 2006. ICv2 notes that V performed well in the book market, where it was a close second to Naruto Vol. 9 in unit sales and No. 1 in dollar sales.
