Rucka? Just Met 'Er!
Joe Kelly has replaced Greg Rucka as writer of DC's Supergirl title, beginning with July's issue #8. Rucka told Newsarama that "[b]etween Checkmate, 52, Supergirl and something like three novels to be written in the next eight months, something had to give, and, sadly, it was Kara who got the axe. I hate having to let the book go, but that's the way it shook out."
Kelly, like Rucka, is no stranger to the Superman universe, and will apparently take his cue from Rucka's One Year Later setup of Supergirl and Power Girl as the Nightwing and Flamebird of the bottle city of Kandor. The first One Year Later issue (#7), which is also Rucka's only Supergirl issue, has yet to be published. In the meantime, the Girl of Steel can be found on another road-trip of sorts, in the newly-renamed Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes.
It is still unclear as to whether other comics pundits will use this changeover for cheap headline gags.

Like Queen and Country, the thing he writes (wrote) that I'd actually like to read, apparently had to give.
Hooray! we only had to kill off one good indie book to instead get two more superhero books!
Well, maybe one of the three upcoming novels will be another Queen & Country book....
