"A Thunderbolt will die!"

Marvel's Thunderbolts will celebrate their "100th" issue in March by killing off your favorite member (or someone's favorite member, anyway):

The Thunderbolts can no longer call themselves "new" as they reach their milestone 100th issue and resume their original numbering. In this giant-sized anniversary issue, the machinations of Zemo are revealed and a T-bolt will make the ultimate sacrifice for redemption. Yes, one of our heroes will die. But who?

Thunderbolts #100 finds Zemo taking on the cosmically powered Photon and the winner...gets to save the universe? Plus, original T-bolt Moonstone returns, but whose side is she on?

Newsarama has a preview up of the 100th issue of the title, which will resume its original numbering in March.

So who do you think will die?

My guess is Beetle..I mean Mach IV or whatever. People named Beetle don't have much luck.

I think Photon might be on his way out. looks like we're getting a new heir to the Captain Marvel legacy over in Young Avengers.

Has anyone been reading this series? I may get the trades but I hear nothing about it by anyone.

I've been reading it. It's a more traditional superhero book than most of what's on the market today. Good stuff if you like old Avengers, etc. That's what it feels like to me.

It's a more traditional superhero book...

Agreed. And in a good way. Nicieza seems to have a solid handle on who these characters and does a good job of making his stories accessible, even if you're unfamiliar with the team's history, as I was when I first picked it up with the New Avengers crossover a few months back. I've since read the TPBs and added it to my pull list. Fun superhero comics, like everyone claims they want to see again. In a just world, it'd be out-selling New Avengers.
