Marvel helps honor "Super Teachers"

Marvel has teamed up with OfficeMax and the nonprofit group TeachersCount to recognize outstanding middle school teachers by putting them into comics:

OfficeMax, Marvel Entertainment, and TeachersCount have teamed up to present the "OfficeMax Super Hero Teacher of the Year contest," to recognize teachers for their heroic efforts.

Any student in grades 6-8 can nominate a teacher by writing a short essay on "Why My Teacher Is a Super Hero," and mailing the entry to TeachersCount or dropping the entry at a participating OfficeMax store. Judges will evaluate essays based on relevance to theme, creativity, originality, and merit of teacher's accomplishments as outlined in the essay.

The special-edition comic book will recognize the great work of teachers and will honor teachers as Super Heroes. Copies of the comic book will be available free -- while supplies last -- at participating OfficeMax stores in July 2006.
