Great Walsillians: John Byrne

This week we look at John Byrne – A giant within the realms of Comic Book History. John Byrne is one of the most revered comic book writers around and is most famous for reviving the Superman franchise in the 1980s.

Yes, we’re not lying. It’s a little known fact that this "cult hero" hailed from our great town. Byrne left Walsall when he was 8 years old to head Stateside, the place that nurtured his interest in Comics.

The article goes on to mention that he is a "bit controversial" and "the kind of guy the average Walsillian should be immensely proud of."
