Brian Wood's The Tourist back on schedule
On his LiveJournal, Brian Wood gave an update on several comic projects, including Local, DMZ and The Tourist, which was scheduled to come out last year:
The book that's a year late™. Yeah, it fell victim to some serious snags, all of which are either too boring or too delicate or too inappropriate to get into in public. But it's complete and will be out finally in April. I was reading back through it, and its interesting... I don't think I've written anything quite like it. Time-wise, I wrote it around the time I was really getting up to speed on Demo, around issues 3 and 4, but its nothing like Demo. If I had to say, its some weird hybrid of aspects of The Couriers (the action), and aspects of Demo (people relating on emotional levels), but really is its own thing. Curious to see how it works when its all put together. Toby's art is great - I hope he and I do another book soon.
Image is the publisher now - they've been asking me to submit something for ages, and the book had been without-publisher since last summer. Seemed like a good fit, and I like the $9.99 pricepoint they're giving the book.
He also talks a little bit about comics and the Internet. Check it out.
