Can't Wait for Wednesday
It's 5 p.m. Monday, meaning that the Diamond shipping lists for this week are now available. So what are you planning on getting this week?
On the trade front, this week brings a Penny Arcade collection from Dark Horse (if you didn't check out the recent 25 cent issue of Penny Arcade, you missed out), the Flash:Rogue War trade and another Spider-Girl digest. In addition, several new comics debut this week, including Sentinel Squad One and the return of Peter Milligan and Mike Allred to the X-Statix characters with X-Statix Presents: Dead Girl #1 (Comixfan posted an interview with Milligan yesterday). During any other week, Dead Girl (or even All-Star Superman #2 or Planetary #24) would have gotten my comic of the week nod, but this week it goes to the legendary Joe Kubert for the first issue of Sgt. Rock: The Prophecy.

I’ve got to say that I’m really looking forward to picking up the Sgt. Rock title. I haven’t read a rousing WWII comic (especially one written and illustrated by Kubert), in a dog’s age. I think that this series (Especially given its Jewish theme), will make for a good read indead.
