Blogging From The Nob Hill Pharmacy
It's not really a pharmacy anymore. Less than two months ago, it became the Nob Hill Pharmacy Cafe, a rather spacious coffee shop with a deli, a large selection of pastries, ice cream, and Wi-Fi.
In Brian Wood's first issue of Local, there were two major landmarks that were used to depict Portland, Oregon. One was the local train station. The other was the old Nob Hill Pharmacy on Northwest 21st and Glisan back when it still was a pharmacy.
The funny thing is, I used to live a block away from this place and I never had an occasion to go inside it until now.
Awfully considerate of Mr. Wood and Mr. Kelly, to leave a record of what once was.

Don't you think it was kind of weird, in Local, when she ran out the back door of the pharmacy and just sort of "appeared" at the train station? They're not exactly next to each other.
I thought they left it vague how far she had to walk to make it to the station. It was kind of a minor disappointment to me that the story didn't incorporate more city landmarks, but what can you expect from a single issue.
