Comic Books' Little Cousin
I know it's been over a month now, but The Beat's extensive coverage of SPX got me thinking about my own foray into self-publishing, namely the mini-comic. I was finally able to locate a scanner to use and I've done a look back at my own mini-comic from twenty years ago. That got me further thinking about the whole mini-comic culture and if one even still exists. A quick google search pointed me to a great website on how to make a mini-comic and I already knew about Shawn Hoke's mini-comic blog, SIZE MATTERS, but I've not seen a mini-comic on sale anywhere, much less bought one, in years.
Back when I first heard of mini-comics (the mid 80's, if you must really know) the Jack Kirby of mini's was the great Matt Feazell. According to his website it looks as if he still makes convention appearances, but I don't see any sign of new adventures of Cynicalman or Antisocialman or my personal favorite duo, Dadman and Sonboy. I remember a magazine store in my former home Portland, Oregon that carried quite a number of mini-comics, but have lost the name over the years. Anybody reading this producing any mini-comcs? Any other resources on the web available for those looking to buy or just gather more info about mini-comics? I plan to scour SIZE MATTERS thouroughly, but thought I ask here and see what turns up.

a site that really introduced me to the world of mini-comics was http://www.opticalsloth.com/
it has a ton of reviews and now has a store open for buying some of those comics.
