Is DC too Silver Age?

That said, I'm finding myself increasingly disillusioned with DC. Having grown accustomed to forward change in comics, both mainstream & indie, it feels to me that DC are backtracking at a tremendous pace, returning to the status quo of approximately 1976-1985. Whether this is because the majority of regular monthly comics buyers today are of the age bracket where they grew up reading the characters of that era & are nostalgic for their return to prominence, or because of the vocal nature of various internet groups & certain creators, or, probably more likely, that DC wants to retain the copyrights to their IPs is debatable.
