Grayson's Nightwing

At CBR, they ask what issues fans have with Devin Grayson's run on Nightwing:

Because she took what Chuck Dixon had created, all the supporting cast, his being a policeman and a vigilante at the same time, the confidance of Nightwing, his apartment, and everything else, and destroyed it. She killed off all the supporting cast by destroying his apartment, she cut him out of the police department, and she made him into a whiny little bastard who didn't have the strength to stop a person from shooting a man and then raping him.

. . .
For months (or years, was it?), we had Nightwing's main rogue in Blockbuster. He did things that made us hate & despise him, which means he was a good "bad guy" for Dick, and we were all anxiously and patiently awaiting the day that Dick would finally take him down. Then, in one panel, Tarantula shoots and kills Blockbuster!!!! WTF!?!?!?!? So all this waiting and build up, and the lead character in his own book (although it seemed more like Tarantula's book at the time) doesn't even get to take his #1 rogue down? And then shorlty after that, Dick gets mounted by Tarantula and has sex against his will, and he doesn't even try to push her off b/c he's in shock?!?!? Yeah -- that scene made a lot of sense, I mean, Dick has always been known to break down under pressure & strain, hasn't he? I mean, nothing in his whole time with Batman, or the Titans, or anywhere else was ever as traumatic as this, was it?

But, the negativity wasn't universal.

What I absolutely hate is the frequency of ad hominem attacks on Devin Grayson by fans when they dislike her writing. Dislike her writing, critique her writing, hell attack the writing if you hate it so much. But ad hominem attacks on the author because you dislike her writing isn't fair and is a hallmark of a poor argument.
