Evil Ernie returns

Newsarama reported today that Evil Ernie will be making his triumphant return to comics in a crossover with Devil's Due title HackSlash. The article focused mainly on the logistics of creating new stories for the Chaos! characters even though they do not own the rights to Lady Death.

Conveniently for us, Chaos! had a Crisis on Infinite Earths-like event, called Armageddon, that wiped out the original Chaos! universe and rebooted continuity. For all intents and purposes, our continuity can be labeled "Post-Armageddon", which means we're starting relatively fresh. The goal is to give Chaos! fandom the characters they know and love, but allow new readers to join us without having to become versed in old continuity.

I am not familiar with HackSlash, are any of you? I am excited about new Evil Ernie books though. I bought two or three of his trades a few years back and was pleasantly surprised with both the art and the writing (it was quite funny). Any Chaos! fans out there who are excited about this?

I'm coloring the Evil Ernie Santa Fe book right now, and it is looking exceptional.
Ernie fans will not be disappointed in Penciller Tommy Castillo's work.

It's going to be hard to put down if you are flipping through it at the shop.

I have been a loyal follower of Chaos! Comics since I happeed to pick up a copy of wizard magazine with Evil on the cover. I still have my membership card to the Chaos! Comics Fiend Club, 2664, and though it looked bleak when Chaos! had to close I came to an epiphany one night. The comics depict that due to the power of the chaotic green arcane energy anytime something dies in the world its is brought back as an even more unkillable force. I am glad I was right.
