On NPR's "Fresh Air" this week, Bird reveals to Terry Gross that he wishes for his super power to be to be able to finance projects. Love NPR: a Real Audio file's already available at that link.

Bird answers the "How did you choose their powers?" question for the millionth time. Once Gross gets past that, though, Bird gets a chance to compare superheroes with capes to Isadora Duncan, fall into the Edna Mode voice, and reveal that Sara Vowell's agent said Vowell wouldn't want to be Violet. (The Easter egg clip of Violet shooting a gun in E's lab with the audio of Vowell shoting a cannon with her dad was done to show that Vowell's voice would work for Violet. Which explains for me why it was done, I expect there's no time or money to animate jokes.)
