Loeb gets Spirit-ual

So Jeph Loeb is attached to the upcoming The Spirit movie. I'm sure the news is all over the net, but I got my dose from Newsarma. I have to admit, I'm a bad comic fan and haven't checked out any of Will Eisner's work, though it is on the very top of my list after I graduate and actually have money to spend. I am excited about this news though. I am a big fan of Loeb, especially his movie work like Commando and the Teen Wolf saga (wink). Seriously, though, I think he'll do a good job. And here's the good news for fans:

“Will Eisner created a tremendous character and story, and Jeph Loeb is the perfect writer to enhance and honor his legacy. Michael and I met with Will just before he passed away in January, and we all agreed that our film will encompass the same integrity, artistry and handsomely crafted look that The Spirit is so well-known for.”

How do you think this movie will do though? As revolutionary as Eisner was on the book, it's just not well known outside of the comic world. I think this one may have to ride on starpower to get viewers in the theatres because the name isn't as marketable.
