Shanna Busts Out

Today comes finished Shanna: the She Devil artwork from Marvel and Frank Cho, with the first five covers and several randomish choices of interior pages on Marvel's part over at TNI, and the more logical selection of the first ten pages from the first issue (with lettering!) at Newsarama.

Not shockingly, it looks like a fluff book - an unbelievably, gorgeously illustrated fluff book, but a fluff book none the less. Which makes me wonder why Marvel got their spandex underpants in a twist over toning down the content from MAX material to Marvel Knights material.

Is there that much of a difference? A nipple might be camouflaged with cling-on bubbles and a loincloth might miraculously cover crack at all times in the new pages, but there's really no question of who this book is still very much aimed at.

Meh.

In other news, I'll likely be checking it out. Yes - I feel dirty and I don't care.
