A Second Shot for Fellows on Canvas

The Comic Book Bin has re-posted their interview with Alex Fellows following the delayed publication of his graphic novel Canvas, which Fantagraphics turned down originally in the heat of their financial troubles. Since then, Fellows has received the Xeric Grant for pursuing his work, and Fantagraphics has agreed to publish the book.

Fellows has a distinctively lucid but sweeping harmony about his art, which has included another graphic novel of his, Blank Slate--also published by Fantagraphics. His website also offers a unique product for his fans: a custom strip by Fellows based a title sent to him by an interested party. This one might be my favorite.

EDIT: Because the Xeric grant ain't from Canada. Thanks to Ed Cunard for the catch.
