Outside View: Ringo Starr To Wear Tights
Fresh off his court victory against Marvel, Stan Lee made an announcement that reminds us why he so needs all that “Spider-Man” moolah. His company, POW! Entertainment will be developing a new animated superhero project for television and DVD.
Based on Ringo Starr.

According to Lee, the story will focus on Starr as an “evil-battling, Earth-saving – though reluctant – superhero with a great sense of rhythm.” In addition to providing the inspiration for the main character, Starr will provide the voice and, of course, music. In other words, we can expect a superhero Ringo Starr saving the world while singing “Yellow Submarine.”
Reading the quotes from this story, you can almost hear the senility kicking in on the two pop-icons.
"Ringo is beloved worldwide for his commitment to people and his singular wit. Our Ringo Superhero character will combine these qualities, along with Ringo's secret powers which people generally didn't know about because he has kept them secret, until now." - Stan Lee
"I'm so excited to become a 'reluctant superhero'. How great to hang out with Stan and laugh, laugh, laugh, as we're in the first stages of creating this soon to be masterpiece." - Ringo Starr
There's no word on what powers Starr will develop (other than the ability to outlive his bandmates), but Ican only hope that he winds up fighting such villians as "Nowhere Man," "The Walrus and The Eggman," "Sgt. Pepper," and "Eleanor Rigby."
The scariest part of this story may be the fact that at one point, someone at Yahoo! News decided this was worthy of being a front page top story.
No. Wait. It is definitely the fact that Stan Lee is turning Ringo Starr into a superhero.
