20 Questions For You All For the 3/23 Comic Week
I am sure there are some spoilers involved in the following 20 questions. Feel free to answer or not - some of them ARE rhetorical, after all...
1. What do you prefer for hiding profanity in comics? Skulls, like Nextwave, stuff like #%&@!(# or just fake curse words?
2. Isn't it odd that we've come to the point where people (like Ellis' brilliant "Sink City Very Small School With Loveley Children Inside") are making fun of comics that won't even been released for over a month?
3. What was the point of having Shiva dramatically killed in Batgirl when she was going to appear the NEXT month in Birds of Prey? Sorta sucks the drama out, no?
4. Who likes Cassandra Cain as, essentially, the new Lady Shiva?
5. When Hulk gets his revenge for being sent into outer space, will he be by himself, or will he have his Planet as his backup?
6. So, did Alpha Flight die, or what?
7. How weird was it to be reading a superhero comic (New Avengers) and see praise for a Republican initiative? It was eerie.
8. How weird was it seeing Sean McKeever doing a riff on Shop Around The Corner/You've Got Mail in Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane? Not the most common of reference, eh?
9. Exactly who is the market for a Thor: Blood Oath HARDCOVER?!?!
10. Does Fathom have, like, a plot or something?
11. So, is Foggy dead, or what?
12. Is Scandal Savage the woman from that Justice League Task Force about Vandal Savage using his descendants for organ donations?
13. Would you buy a Dirk Anger one-shot done in the style of the Bunny Suicides?
14. Is that how Starfox's powers WORK? Or is there a story there about how his powers are acting differently? That'd be cool.
15. Do I really have to root for Pug in She-Hulk? He's such a loser!!

16. Who would you rather have a wacky adventure with? The dudes from Weekend at Bernie's or Booster Gold and Blue Beetle?
17. Who would you rather be tortured by? The dude from Marathon Man or The Joker?
18. What would you consider a more annoying mission? Saving Private Ryan or saving the kid in Sgt. Rock: The Prophecy?
19. Who would you rather hang out with when you were a kid? The Goonies or the Runaways?
20. If you were on the lam, who would you prefer to have on your tail? Ethan Edwards or Kate Spencer from Manhunter?

1. Chinese characters. Or, if Joss Whedon's not around, skulls are kind of cool. Not that it matters when you're just filling in your own profanities anyway.
2. No idea, but isn't it brilliant when parody can be funny whether or not you get the reference?
5. If it's the whole planet (not just the occupants, but the whole planet), I'd consider actually reading the story.

14. The bigger question here is: "Are they working? Or going haywire?"
15. Yes. Yes, you do. Pug is a bit of a loser, but he's a nice loser. John is just a jerk.
19. The Runaways. The Goonies are annoying.
Man, Saving Private Ryan would be WAY more annoying. You spend all this time to go get a guy who doesn't want to leave. Yeah they're carrying books and stuff, but at least they're given a mission and carrying it out in the Rock mini.
I don't Shiva was killed at the end of Batgirl - didn't cassandra leaving her dangling over a lazerous pit?
But more Cassandra Cain would be cool...

I dunno, I think the skulls are neat. I also like black bars. That's government-style censoring!

The point? Sounds like you haven't been reading mainstream comics long enough. The point of deaths is to make stories SEEM like EVENTS.

Gold and Blue all the way. But I ain't hanging around anyone called 'Skeets.' Jeez.

I'd go with the Joker. I mean sure he'd mess you up, but at least you could appreciate the humor in it,

GOONIES! I always wanted to be friends with a smart kid like Data.
