The Sheaf, the University of Saskatchewan's student newspaper, has an interview up with Ross May, a U of S student whose first published work, Tales of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #19, will be published later this month.

Sheaf: How did you get to write a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle comic?

Ross May: A year ago I emailed Mirage Comics (the TMNT publisher) and said, "Hey, I got a story idea, do you accept unsolicited manuscripts?" I got an email back from Steve Murphy, an editor at Mirage, who told me they don’t really have a policy about unsolicited manuscripts and that they’ve never accepted one in the past. He told me to give it a shot anyway.

Steve liked it and Peter Laird, one of the creators of TMNT, liked it and it went from there. The best part is that Steve told me to write more.
