Marvel movie updates

Sci Fi Wire reports that Marvel has taken the film rights to Iron Man back from New Line. They also suggest that maybe they'll develop it themselves and distribute it through partner Paramount. That's a long way from when Tom Cruise was supposedly gunning for the role.

Marvel also announced yesterday that Michael Helfant had been named President & COO of Marvel Studios. Helfant comes from Beacon Pictures, which made Ladder 49 and Raising Helen.

Comicbookmovie.com has the first look of Blackheart from the Ghost Rider movie. Speaking of comicbookmovie.com, who wouldn't want to read more about the 1994 Fantastic Four movie? Dig Johnny's hair ...

My hope is that Ghost Rider is at least some improvement over director Mark Steven Johnson's work on Daredevil.
