Bill Jemas alert
360ep, the company formed by former Marvel top dawg Bill Jemas has announced its first comic book project, an adaptation of Majesco's Advent Rising.
Rob Worley, known for his aborted Young Ancient One at Epic/Marvel, will be handling the writing chores in tandem with Jemas (which isn't pointed out here, but is noted in a recent print ad for the series) while former Rogue and Buffy artist Cliff Richard will be taking on the art duties.
If memory serves, Greg Horn was handling covers. But I could be wrong. He might have just done the art for that one ad. But that's doubtful, considering Horn's big name pull, especially with such a new project.
Anyway, here's a snippet of the official press release, which I first saw on Newsarama:
360ep, a full-service entertainment property management company, today announced a new comic book series based on Majesco Entertainment's popular new video game, Advent Rising, released in May. The six-issue comic series serves as a prequel to the video game's storyline and introduces readers to the Advent Trilogy via the game's hero, Gideon Wyeth. When completed, the six-issue series will also be combined into a trade paperback.
"The Advent Rising comic book is an exciting result of our efforts in establishing greater awareness of our top-tier titles through franchise activities," said Ken Gold, vice president of Marketing for Majesco. "We're excited to be partnering with 360ep to introduce Advent Rising to the avid community of comic book enthusiasts."
Advent Rising comic book talents Rob Worley (writer: YOUNG ANCIENT ONE), Cliff Richards (penciler: ROGUE, BIRDS OF PREY, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER), Dennis Crisostomo (inker: EMMA FROST) and Cris DeLara (colorist: THUNDERSAURS, SERENITY) have been tapped to expand upon the game's unique artistic style and epic storyline.

The game is suprisingly good though.
You didn't hear my MOOG soundtrack/concept album that matches every level of Mario Bros. III?
