DivaLea: Sock Full of Jonny Quest

Yeah, it's me. Been a while. But I'm back with "John and Yoko" a guest strip at Flux Blog by M.E. Russell.

In it, Russell perfectly encapsulates what drives movie music fans, and what makes them happy. Russell's rush of joy for John Williams' "total imagination fuel" score for Star Wars, and later Yoko Kanno's Cowboy BeBop music is something every score geek can relate to.
My first love in movie soundtracks was also "Star Wars". My "sockful of Jonny Quest" was Michael Giancchino's score for The Incredibles.

What are my current and all-time fave inspirational listens? I've listened to a little bit of everything, even stuff commonly sniffed at: Sting, Tori Amos, Celine Dion, Matchbox 20, Linkin Park, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera. Why, I'm glad you asked!
Secret of Blue Water (aka Nadia), Volume I.
Dana's theme from Ghostbusters, by Elmer Bernstein.
Great Expectations score, especially "Kissing in the Rain" by Miriam Stockley
Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, by Alan Mencken, with great vocals by Paul Kandel, Tony (Megabyte!) Jay, Heidi Mollenhauer, and Tom Hulce.
Wicked, by Stephen Schwartz, with vocals by Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth.
Phantom of the Opera, Andrew Lloyd Webber, vocals by Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford. (Yeah, I am a big sucker for musicals.)
Diva, by Annie Lennox.

I also have two great mix CDs inspired by Rumble Girls:SWT that were made for me. One I can't find right now (so the maker will forgive me for not being able to pull his name out of my brain grease), the other by Lisa (Arcana Jayne) Jonte'. On that CD is:
"Just a Girl" by No Doubt
"Tonight and the Rest of My Life" by Nina Gordon
"The Girl with the Weight of the World in Her Hands" by the Indigo Girls
"Terrible Lie" by Nine Inch Nails
"In the Arms of the Angels", by Sarah McLaughlin
"The Suits are Picking Up the Bill" by Squirrel Nut Zippers
"Sapphire Bullets of Pure Love" by They Might Be Giants

Delightfully angsty, it is. Rumble Girls:SWT is long done, but I still listen to it. Total imagination fuel!

So, what's everyone else's?
