1983: The Other Love & Rockets and a Baboon

Back in the mid-1980s, I was in college. (Yes, I graduated). While there, I developed a fondness for the music of former Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy, as well as another Bauhaus offshoot project Love & Rockets. When I like a band, I tend to be a completist and try to get everything they ever released.

Yesterday, I found out there was a major omission in my Love & Rockets collection. An old friend, Tracy Van Voris, lead singer of the Atlanta-based band Crumsy Pirates, made me aware of a collaboration between some of the members of Love & Rockets...and Translucia Baboon, on a tune called The March of the Sinister Ducks. Who is Translucia Baboon,? Well as detailed by Neil Gaiman over a year ago...it's none other than Alan Moore.

Tracy dropped me a line about this collaboration because she had run across a website that had developed an animation piece to the song. Words can't describe how odd this video is. And yet I know there's an Alan Moore fan (or a Love & Rockets fan) who will enjoy this...or maybe not.

Update: Just saw that LITG linked to this earlier in the week. Oh well, hope everyone enjoyed my personal life angle on this oddity.
