Slott, Templeton Re-Team on Spidey/Human Torch

Maybe I've been under a rock, but for the life of me, I don't know why Marvel isn't hyping the Spider-Man/Human Torch miniseries more. Fortunately the fine folks at PULSE have a preview of the first issue (on sale this week) of this five-issue miniseries. Why am I so enthused? I'm the guy who loved Ty Templeton's writing (forget his wonderful artwork, that's a given) as far back as the Avengers: United They Stand (a great comic book promoting a weak cartoon) in 1999. More recently, Dan Slott and Templeton constructed an incredibly engaging (I mean better than the main Bat titles) Bat-universe in the 17-issue run of Batman Adventures. In a week where we're getting spun up about the Miller/Lee Batman & Robin, Marvel has quietly (OK Marvel's never quiet, but this is the first I've noticed of this project) released the first issue of a series that can garner old-time readers, as well as potentially interest the teen reader (say what you will, but the way teens devour manga, the superheroes have to garner their attention--it's easy money).
