Jacobsen on why Invaders went New

That was entirely MY fault. When Chuck Austen and I were co-writing I said I preferred the title NEW INVADERS. Chuck said INVADERS was better. I thought "New" was more honest. I wanted to let readers know this book wasn't going to be a new version of the old series---it really is it's own thing.

When Chuck left the project we went with NEW INVADERS. I wouldn't have asked for it if I realized Marvel was also adding "New" to every other team book on the stands. It's like a bad joke. The year of the "New" team books.
