Stan Lee's Christmas Story
The Asbury Park Press presents an interview with Stan "The Man" about his most groundbreaking endeavor in years - writing a Christmas themed children's book.
Fear not, True Believers. If doubt was beginning to convince you that Stan Lee was out of the forefront of publishing, there's a bright shining star in the East this Christmas. Lee has released a special Christmas book for which he openly expresses lofty hopes.
"There are always things," he says. "I'm doing a lot of work in DVDs. In fact, we'll probably do a DVD of this book. A couple of networks are talking to us about doing a Christmas special based on the 'Superhero Christmas' -- you know, like the 'Peanuts' Christmas (special). That could be a perennial."
I suppose time will only tell if the great gallery of claymation and animated Christmas classics will grow to include the work of the immortal Marvel creator. The premise is certainly interesting: A superhero called "The Protector" is captured while on a mission to the North Pole to save Santa Claus & Co. from the evil Ice King and his legion of ice trolls; thus, it is up to the hero's wife and kids to figure out how to save Christmas. I think I've got a reason to venture back into the children's section of Borders tomorrow.
